1. Are you making it online?

Do you know what it really takes to make money on the
Internet? I mean REALLY know?
Its not done by jumping on every 'HOT' new opportunity.
Its not done by purchasing millions of email addresses
and spamming the heck out of them.
Its not done by simply throwing up a website and hoping
for the best.
And you're really going to hate me for this one, but:
Its not done by joining affiliate programs!
I know AffiliateMatch is all about affiliate programs,
and in fact I list a quite a few of them. But the bottom
line is that in most cases affiliate programs are NOT
the key to your riches.
There are a number of success stories out there, but
the majority of the people online today just aren't going
to make it.
Are you going to let yourself be one of the ones that
won't make it?
Notice that I said *let* yourself.
I say that because your destiny truly is in your own
hands. If you don't succeed online it is noone else's
fault but your own.
Too harsh for you?
Then let's grab the optimistic view for a minute.
If you do put yourself into the group of winners, you
can expect to make enough money to:
Accelerate bill payoff
Buy a new car
Buy a bigger house
Spend more time with your family
Take a vacation once in a while rather than
always dreaming about one
How can this be?
Once you are on the right track, it is not terribly
difficult to make an extra $1,000 a month with an
Internet business.
To some that may not sound like much, and to others
that number is more than they make at their current
job.
If you are one of the people that doesn't think that
is enough, apply that $1,000 to each of the items
above.
How long will it take you to wipe out a credit card
if you're throwing an extra grand a month at it?
Even a maxed-out $10,000 card can be history in under
10 months.
A new car? I don't know where you live, but around
here $1,000 a month buys a VERY nice car!
Bigger house? Add $1,000 to what you pay now and tell
me you can't afford a bigger house.
Save your money for a few months and its: "Vacation
here I come!"
Now, while I have you dreaming let me remind you that
this CAN BE DONE on the Internet. Really.
Last night I read about a guy that's making over
$2 million dollars a year from his website!!
This figure was from 2 years ago! He doesn't like for
people to know how much his site is making now, so
that figure could be MUCH higher.

Anyway, if it is possible to make a lot of money on
the Net, but very few will do this from affiliate
programs, how DO you do it?
Bottom line ... with your own product.
You hear about many super affiliates these days, and
yes there are quite a few.
But with VERY FEW exceptions, do you know what these
people have in common?
They already have their own product. They have their
own list of satisified customers that they recommend
other products to.
A customer is hundreds of times more likely to follow
your advice on additional products and services than
a visitor or subscriber.
This is not some way-out concept here, either. You
are blasted with ad after ad, scam after scam, day in
and day out, right?
After a short period of time you get to the point where
you just ignore most of them.
But if you buy a product from someone, and you find it
to be of great value, you'll anxiously open anything
they send you in the future.
It's just human nature.
I was thinking about this the other day, and I realized
that of the hundreds of newsletters I get each week,
the majority of those that I religiously read are those
that I own one or more of their products.
If I liked their product, I can't wait to see what they
have to teach me each week.
Again the point I'm trying to make is that you need
your own product.
No its not easy, but with the tools and information
out there these days it is easier than it used to be.
Heck, you don't even have to create a massive ebook
or manual, your product can be a simple report that
takes no time at all to put together.
In fact, the best book on that subject is the "Special
Report Bible" by Damon Zahariades

By the time you finish reading it you'll have report
ideas coming out of your ears! I'm not kidding, Damon
really gets your creative juices flowing with that one.
And yes, you can still make money from affiliate programs,
( in fact *I* wrote the book on that one ;-)

make SERIOUS money, you need to start working on your
product.
You can put it off as long as you like, but until you get
serious and start figuring out what you are going to create
and how you are going to create it, you are limiting your
income.
Yes, I'm being blunt here, but if you want to dream big,
you need to be told how to reach those dreams.
It ain't going to happen while sitting in front of the
T.V. watching your favorite shows each night.
Can you put together an ebook or report on your favorite
subject?
Are you ready to park a new Lexus or BMW in front of your
house? Or, my favorite: Porsche?
Then get cracking and start creating!

2. Paul tells it like it is

Yesterday I got the latest issue of Paul Myers' TalkBiz
ezine.
Paul was pretty upset over the massive over-hyping of the
new product by Mark Joyner and Jay Conrad Levinson.
He's not so much upset over the hyping part, but the fact
that everyone is pushing it without a clue as to what the
product is!
He makes some very strong points, as only Paul can. To me
it sounded too much like CashEvolution, so I didn't even
look at it.
But the problem is that so many marketers will just jump
on the latest, greatest, "get rich overnight" schemes and
run with them.
Personally, I own every product that I recommend to you.
It is a VERY rare occassion that I'll push something that
I don't personally use.
It is just too risky to push something on you, and then
to find out it was junk.
An example of me promoting something that I don't use
would be the Host4Profit ( http://affmatch.com/host4profit )
deal that I told you about.
The only reason I went out on a limb with that one is that
I'm a member of the Warrior private site, and know that
Allen Says only puts out quality stuff.
You might think: "Why don't you recommend the hosting
company that you use?"
The main reason is that most people aren't ready for the
type of hosting I use. My host is the best out there, hands
down...but they only do dedicated hosting.
And because they are the best, they aren't cheap. The
company I use is Rackspace ( http://affmatch.com/rackspace )
by the way.
Since they aren't cheap I've found the best deal out there
that will work for the majority of my readers.
Anyway, the point of all this is that you really should
own and use the products you recommend. If you really like
them, chances are that your visitors and subscribers will
too.
You'll do a lot of damage to your credibility if you push
a product that doesn't live up to its promises.
