Apparently a little motivational boost was needed after all.

2. A business for Dad and me

Two weeks ago I finally convinced my Dad to let me sell off
some of his autograph collection on eBay.
So far he is quite happy that I was so insistent on the idea.
I kinda wish we would have gotten started a little earlier to
take better advantage of the holiday shopping season, but so
far we're looking at just under a grand (that's $1,000) for
the two weeks.
Not bad in my opinion.
I sold some of my own books and such a while back, but had
been trying to get my Dad to let go of some of the hundreds of
different autograph pictures, cards, and other stuff that he
has been collecting.
Ever since I read the Make Your Net Auction Sell! by Sydney
Johnston, ( http://www.affmatch.com/mynas ) I've wanted to see
how well a person could really do on the auction sites.
Fortunately we have enough inventory to do this for quite some
time, and if all we do is the same volume that we've done this
past two weeks, we're looking at an extra $2,000 or so per
month.
I'm pretty sure this will be much higher because we are quickly
learning where to cut corners to save time.
One thing for sure; the auction business isn't as nice as the
affiliate program business. You have to deal with packaging and
shipping!
I don't care much for that part, but lucky for me my Dad doesn't
mind at all. So, guess who's in charge of the Shipping & Receiving
department!
My plans for all of this are to get it started and work out all of
the kinks, then teach him the Internet piece so he can run it him-
self and let this become his full-time income.
At 54 I personally believe it is time for Dad to stop working for
the idiots that he puts up with 8+ hours a day.
There's no need for this when there is a way to make money off of
his hobbies. The things that he truly enjoys.
If you are looking for a way to make some extra cash in your spare
time, you might want to consider selling off some of the stuff
that you have around the house collecting dust.
So far for us its turning out to be a profitable venture.

a copy of Sydney's book. If you are like us, you will find that it
can be a quite profitable venture.
